Dear Edinburgh Supporter

Edinburgh Rugby's winning streak in the Heineken Cup continued with the fantastic 32-16 win over Neath/ Swansea Ospreys in Wales. http://www.edinburghgunners.org.uk/index.php?pageid=viewreport.php?id=25

Not only did the Gunners secure all four points for the win, but they also managed to gain an all important bonus point for scoring four tries to leave them sitting proudly at the top of Pool 2 with a total of 9 points!

Despite beating the reigning Heineken Cup Champs and collecting maximum points away to a Welsh team boasting players such as Scott Gibbs and Shane Williams, apparently the Gunners haven't managed to impress everyone! Planet Rugby are currently asking the question " Who has been the most impressive in the opening two rounds of the Heineken Cup?" http://www.planetrugby.com/
Gloucester are currently way out front with 41%, Llanelli are second with 19% and Edinburgh are lying third with 17% of the vote. So if you disagree with this get voting and get our boys up there!

So the Heineken Cup now takes a break for festive period, but if you want to keep up to date with all the latest Heineken Cup news visit http://ercrugby.com.

CELTIC CUP FINAL!

So with only 3 days left to go, our attention can turn fully to the biggest professional club match to not only be held in Scotland, but to also involve a Scottish team.... and it's Edinburgh!

The Gunners go into Saturday's match full of confidence having won their last five matches. But with Ulster currently sitting top of the Celtic League and having overcome Stade Francais in the Heineken Cup at the weekend, we all know that our boys are going to have another tough match on their hands.

YOUR TEAM NEEDS YOU!
Now we all know that Ulster have a huge fan base and that they like to show their support for their team by singing and shouting.... but we can do better than them! The crowds reaction when Brendan dived over for that third try to seal victory over Toulouse proved that the Edinburgh support do have a voice! Our boys show their appreciation to us after every match and they have acknowledged that our support can make a difference:

"Without doubt it was achieved also by the group of fans - maybe not the
biggest ever assembled but hugely welcome nonetheless - who followed
us to the west Ireland. For there is no question they played a part in the
win because such was the wafer thin margin, that without their support
when our backs were to the wall we wouldn't have pulled through. So, for
as being our extra player I wouldn't hesitate to dedicate the win to the
travelling support."
Allan "Chunk" Jacobsen (after the Semi-final win over Connacht)

If a group of fifteen ecstatic fans can urge the boys to victory in Connacht, just think what a crowd of thousands can do! So come on prove not only to the team, but to the opposition, their fans and the rest of the sports viewing Nation watching on TV that we are proud of our boys and help them lift the Celtic Cup!!

CLUBROOM
For one match only we will be re-locating the Supporters Clubroom to the Murrayfield Wanderers Clubhouse. Doors will be open from 11am and thanks to our new sponsors, Caledonian Brewery, we are offering an 'Early Bird' special offer. The first 80 pints of Caledonian 80/- will be available at the special price of £1.50.... so make sure your there early to soak up all of the pre-match atmosphere! And don't forget to come along after the match where you can mingle with the players, who knows they with any luck they'll be bringing along a new piece of silverware with them!

A big thank you goes to everyone at Wanderers for letting us use their facilities! And also a big thank you to Gala for agreeing to rearrange their scheduled match with Wanderers so that fans from both teams can get fully behind the Gunners!

BORDERS & GLASGOW FANS!
As pointed out before, Saturday's match is the biggest professional club match to be held in Scotland and also the first final to feature a professional Scottish team. This is why we hope that ever Scottish rugby fan will be right behind the Gunners!

This is why the Supporters Club would like to invite all Borders and Glasgow fans to join in the festivities in our clubroom! So if you know any season ticket holders from the Borders or Glasgow who are thinking of making the trip to Murrayfield on Saturday, please remind them to bring along their season ticket along with them and encourage them to join us!

GOOD LUCK BOYS!!!
