Dear Edinburgh Supporter
So after Round 4 of this season's Heineken Cup, Edinburgh still proudly sit at the top of Pool 2 with seventeen points. Not only are the boys top of their pool, but they are also the only team in the competition with a 100% record after Gloucester and Llanelli both suffered defeats at the weekend.
With Toulouse beating Neath/Swansea Ospreys on Friday night, the Gunners went into Sunday's match knowing that a win against Leeds would put them two points clear of the reigning Heineken Cup Champions....and what a fantastic win it was!!! http://www.edinburghgunners.org.uk/index.php?pageid=viewreport.php?id=29
Not only does that result move the boys back into top spot in Pool 2, but it also means that they have moved up a further three places to 6th in the unofficial ranking of Europe?s top rugby clubs. Well Done Boys!!!

LEEDS TRIP
I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made the trip down to Leeds on Sunday and also made themselves heard even before the match had kicked off, and I know that the boys really appreciated your support!!
For those of you that didn't manage to make the trip (and those who don't mind being reminded!), between 200-300 enthusiastic fans made the ten hour round trip to Leeds. These included a bus full of Supporters Club members, those who had made a weekend of it and travelled down independently and also the 40th Regiment Royal Artillery!
The Supporters Club bus were kept entertained by a highlights video of the season so far, supplied by Edinburgh Rugby and a variety of Gunners related puzzles which I hope everyone enjoyed!
Well done to Graeme Dickson, who was closest to the time of the first Gunners try which was scored by Simon Webster (in case anyone is wondering it was scored after 13 minutes and 42 seconds!). A big thank you goes to the Supporters Club's official sponsor, the Caledonian Brewery for donating the prize for this competition and also to everyone who entered and managed to raised £37.10 for the Wooden Spoon Society. So thank you again!
Congratulations must also go to Brendan Laney, who not only won the official Heineken Cup Man of the Match but was also presented with a Man of the Match trophy from the 40th Regiment Royal Artillery.
Finally a big thank you to Leeds Tykes for their hospitality during the day, and also to Duncan Hodge for taking the time to come along before the match to talk to the Edinburgh fans.

NEATH/SWANSEA OSPREYS
So next up are Neath/ Swansea Ospreys on Friday night, and another win would put the Gunners within touching distance of reaching the knock out stages of the Heineken Cup for the first time!
After the fantastic crowd of over 5,000 that came to cheer on the boys to victory over Leeds, Edinburgh Rugby are opening the ground area of Meadowbank with tickets for this area available at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. The ground is uncovered and there is no access to the concourse or the stand from there, but there are toilets and there will be outlets for snacks and drinks. Edinburgh Rugby are also offering free entry to this area to teachers, helpers, leaders etc from groups bringing children aged 12 and under who will also get in free. If you know anyone interested they must ring Edinburgh Rugby on 0131 346 5262 in advance.
The last two home matches have shown what a fantastic atmosphere can be created at Meadowbank, so make sure that you play your part by getting right behind the boys!

JUNIORS
You may remember that before Christmas we ran a competition for one lucky junior member of the supporters club to be the official Edinburgh mascot for the Heineken Cup match against Leeds at Meadowbank.
The winner was 8 year old Ciaran Williams, and I hope he had a fantastic time!
Thank you to everyone who entered. Due to the large numbers of entries we had, we are currently talking to Edinburgh Rugby about providing mascots for some of the matches later on in the season, so remember to visit the juniors section of the web site for further details.
