The Gunners rounded off their pre-season preparation with an away trip to Franklins Gardens. Although we saw the welcome return of Simon Webster, Ally Hogg and Mike Blair, the Gunners were still heavily depleted and eventually went down 47-17.

The boys from Belfast have always proved a tough challenge especially last season when they won all three matches contested between the two teams, including the Celtic Cup Final.
However they have also been hit by a number of injuries including James Topping and will be without their internationalists David Humphreys, Simon Best, Tyrone Howe, and Kevin Maggs who are halfway through Irelands ten week conditioning period.
The two teams should be pretty evenly matched so the boys will need you all to be the sixteenth man on the pitch for them, so scream, shout, do you whatever you want, just make some noise and help the boys get their Celtic League campaign off to a winning start!

BYE BYE BURNSY
The end of last season also saw retirement of Edinburghs longest serving players, Graeme Burns. To mark his achievements for the club there will be a special presentation made to Burnsy at half time on Saturday on the pitch, with a further presentation in the clubroom after the match.
So I hope you will all show your appreciation to the Gunners most capped player and join us in the clubroom after the match to say goodbye and thank you!

MORE CHANCES TO WIN IN THE CLUBROOM
The Supporters Club clubroom will be back this season in its new home of the Rowan Suite in the North Stand will all the old favourites back. There will still be lots of food and drink available along with the Supporters Club Man of the Match and raffles with great prizes.
Some of the prizes up for grabs to celebrate a new season and a new home are: a unique signed Gunners cake, a signed Leicester shirt and a Saltire signed by the Scotland squad in Spala.
As well as the old favourites we will also be introducing a couple of new competitions for this season. They will be guess the score of the match and the first Gunners try scorer. Each will cost 50p per shot and you will be able to enter right up until kick off. The winners will be announced in the clubroom after the match.
