Edinburgh Rugby v Watsonians
Edinburgh Rugby have organised a practice/training match against the Premier One club side Watsonians. It is set to take place at Myreside on Tuesday 19 August, kick off is 7pm.
Instead of the usual two halves of 40 minutes, the format of this game will be three sessions of 20 minutes. It provides an opportunity for the players to start gaining fitness and sharpen up on skills and practice set-plays, ahead of the new Magners League season.
The last time a club side faced Edinburgh was in August 2006 when Heriot's lost 61-7 (try count: 9-1) to an Edinburgh development team at Goldenacre.
This game marks the start of their hectic pre-season campaign, with further games due on Saturday 23rd August against London Wasps at Murrayfield (Kick Off 2:30pm) and then away to Bath on Friday 29th August (Kick Off 6:30pm).
Their first Magners League match of the season is at home to European Champions Munster on Friday 5th September, kick off 7:30pm.
