ALLISTER HOGG INJURY UPDATE

Scotland and Edinburgh Rugby forward Allister Hogg underwent a scan on his left knee this morning following a knock in his club's Heineken Cup victory over Perpignan at Murrayfield on Sunday.

Scotland team doctor, James Robson, said: "The scan revealed moderate damage to knee ligaments. The estimated recovery time is three to four weeks - considerably better than was first feared on his initial assessment."

Hogg will now enter a period of intensive rehabilitation on the injury. At this stage he will be ruled out of Scotland's opening RBS Six Nations Championship match against France in Paris on Saturday 5 February and first home match against Ireland on Saturday 12 February but would hopefully be available to be considered for selection for the match against Italy at Murrayfield on 26 February.
