Apollo Out For 4 Months
Edinburgh Gunners' and Scotland back-row Simon Taylor has sustained significant damage to his left knee, a scan and consultation with surgeon Gordon Mackay has shown.
The damage is to Taylor's medial ligament and will force him out of rugby for at least four months, including Scotland's summer tour to South Africa. He will undergo surgery next week to repair the damage and aid his recovery programme. The scan and subsequent examination showed no significant injury to his previously reconstructed cruciate ligament.
The injury was sustained in Edinburgh's 22-16 win over Connacht at the Galway Sportsground last Friday. Taylor will begin rehabilitation with the Gunners' medical staff.
