DISASTER IN DUBLIN

Leinster: 52 Edinburgh: 6

If there was some sort of Embra hoodoo over Leinster, the Dublin destroyers seem to have got over it.  A six tries to nil, bonus point, half century stuffing of the injury-hit visitors got the home side's season back on track.  Meanwhile, it left Andy "Robbo" Robinson with a fair bit to do if the promise of the pre-season is to be realised.

If you give guys like these too much space, if you don't take your chances, if you make basic errors then you are unlikely to be successful.  The writing was on the wall at half time, with Edinburgh already down 20-6, with only a penalty apiece to Paterson and Godman.  And that was after a decent enough start.  But early Embra control was not enough to set the tone for the game, particularly when they gifted points to the opposition.

Shortly after Paterson missed another pot at goal early in the second period, Robinson pulled him and Godman off, to be replaced by David Blair and Andy "Turny" Turnbull.  But it was really one-way traffic, with young winger Fitzgerald ending up with a hatrick of tries.

Tough to find positives after a catastrophe like that.  And next week's opponents, Llanelli, have just edged Connacht 45-3.
