Franky Goes To Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors have signed Argentinean back Francisco Leonelli from Edinburgh Gunners on a two year deal. The versatile runner is equally at home at fullback or on the wing and as well as being a mainstay of the Gunners side over the past season, has represented Argentina 7s, Argentina A (two caps) and has won eight full caps for Argentina. He will be joining the Warriors following the final match of the season.
He said: "I am very excited to be joining the Glasgow Warriors. They have a strong squad for next season and I think we will be very competitive in the Celtic League. I have really enjoyed my time with Edinburgh - the rugby is very good and it's a beautiful city but I think I will find the same in Glasgow. I am very happy to be staying in Scotland for two more years."
Gunners' supporters will naturally be sorry to see Francisco depart, the Argentinean international having made a big impact this season and brought an extra dimension to our back three. We wish him well at Glasgow, except of course when the Weegies play us!
