FROM WATERBOY TO CAPTAIN
Scott Murray returns to action as captain of an Edinburgh development squad against Glasgow at Whitecraigs tonight just six weeks after injuring his knee in a horror road accident. Gunners coach Frank Hadden said: "As well as injuring his knee Scott was quite badly shaken after falling off a bicycle and being struck a glancing blow to the head by the bus.
"We are delighted to have Scott back from what must have been quite a scare and in looking to give as many of our squad a run-out in the final pre-season match before we go to Llanelli for the start of the Celtic League on September 2, Chris Paterson will sit it out and the the temporary captaincy will go to Scott."
Also expected back from injury will be hooker Andy Kelly while Hadden will run the rule over all the players who benched in Friday's 24-25 friendly defeat by Sale Sharks at Murrayfield. These include 18-year-old second-row prospect Steven Turnbull, who stands 6ft 7in and weighs 16st.
Others stepping up could also include Stew/Mel flanker Ross Rennie while Duncan Hodge will continue his comeback by starting having come off the bench during the second half against Sale
