GODMAN IN SQUAD TO FACE ROMANIA

Head coach Frank Hadden today announced a squad of 24 for Scotland's Test against Romania in the Dinamo Stadium, Bucharest on Sunday 5 June.

Drafted in to augment those on duty at Pittodrie on Tuesday when Scotland defeated the Barbarians 38-7, are Phil Godman, the 23-year-old uncapped Edinburgh Rugby stand-off; Sam Pinder, the uncapped scrum-half who has played 42 games for Glasgow Rugby; and Borders full-back/wing Stuart Moffat.

Gordon Ross (Leeds Tykes) is omitted after suffering a hand injury which will have him sidelined for up to three weeks.

Scrum-half Mike Blair had a scan following the injury he sustained to his right knee on Tuesday. He said today: "There's bit of bruising and some fluid on my knee but I have been assured there is nothing untoward of a major nature."

Hadden is hopeful that Blair will be fit to fly with the squad to Bucharest. On the call-up for Godman he said: "We are delighted to give Phil the opportunity. He is a very talented young man and has taken his chances well to play for Edinburgh Rugby this season. He is coming up fast in the rankings."
