The Edinburgh Gunners will be linking players to Premier Division 1 clubs for playing purposes as part of the new protocol agreed between the pro-teams and the top end of the community game.

Gunners' players will also be available to assist clubs in ALL other areas of the community game whether for PR or other purposes such as coaching.

Five Premier One clubs in Edinburgh are linked to the Gunners. All of these clubs already have Gunners' apprentice players who are not part of the allocation process. The players who have been allocated following meetings between the clubs and the Gunners are:

Boroughmuir - Mike Blair, Dave Callam, Simon Cross, Dougie Hall, Chris Paterson, Michael Pyke and Alasdair Strokosch. Apprentice - Kyle Traynor

Currie - Todd Blackadder, Phil Godman, Allan Jacobsen, Tom Philip, Fergus Pringle, Hugo Southwell and Simon Webster. Apprentice - Ben Cairns. Part-time player - Grant Anderson

Heriot's - Rob Dewey, Alasdair Dickinson, Alastair Kellock, Rory Lawson, Alan MacDonald, Ander Monro and Simon Taylor. Apprentice - Nick De Luca

Stewart's-Melville FP - Matt Dey, Allister Hogg, Peter Jorgensen, Andrew Kelly and Craig Smith. Apprentices - Andrew Easson, David McCall, Ross Rennie

Watsonians - Marcus Di Rollo, Dave Hewett, Duncan Hodge, Francisco Leonelli, Scott Murray and Matt Mustchin. Apprentice - Steve Lawrie. Part-time player - Jamie Blackwood

Under the protocol a maximum of four professional players can play in any one team but provided their opponents have at least two players ie that there would be a maximum difference of two pro players allocated between teams competing against each other.

Edinburgh Gunners Head Coach Frank Hadden said: "I am delighted that we have agreed with the five Edinburgh clubs that pro players will get the chance to play in Premier One this season. I see this as an opportunity to develop our relationship with those clubs for the mutual benefit of both parties."
