Apprentices turn-out on first day of club season
Six of Edinburgh Rugby's Full-time Apprentices are in action in the opening day of Scotland's club championship on Saturday.
National Cup holders Watsonians open their league campaign with a home fixture against Ayr, and included in their line-up are scrum-half Murray Bringhurst, hooker Steven Lawrie and loosehead prop Kyle Traynor.
Included in the newly-promoted Dundee HSFP team, are former Scotland U19 stand-off Cameron Ferguson and his Mayfield team-mate Alan Dymock.
In Premiership Two, centre Andrew Easson is included in the Stewart's-Melville line-up to welcome Jed-Forest to Inverleith.
Academy coach Greig Oliver said: "Our academy players have had a big pre-season and are raring to get into action. It's important they play well for their clubs. We are in constant touch with their club coaches and will be monitoring how they get on."
