Team News for Boxing Day

There are thrilling match-ups in prospect all round in the teams announced for Monday's Boxing Day thriller at Murrayfield. Whilst most attention will be focused on the Blair/Cusiter tussle at the base of the scrum, I for one am really looking forward to the other half-back battle where Phil Godman will be taking on living legend Gregor Townsend.

This is a critical Celtic League match for both teams; if the Gunners are to mount a serious challenge then this is a must-win match. For the Reivers, this is their best chance yet to do the double over the Gunners.

It will also be a great chance for former Gunners coach Frank Hadden to run the rule over many players pressing a claim to be included in the Scotland team for the 6 Nations. The December trials may be a thing of the past, but this is as close as they get, and it adds a little extra edge to a match which already has much riding on it. Whatever happens, it should be a cracker, so give yourself a little extra present and get along to Murrayfield to see it.
