As there was no Magners Rugby on television last night I took a chance on the French Top 14 on Eurosport. Guess who was on Castre v Toulouse!

Toulouse dominated the match almost from the start apart from a brisk 5-10 minutes from Castre. The rather large Samoan no8 for Castre, looked a decent ball carrier but the support from his team mates was pretty abysmal.
Not really anything else positive to say about Castre on that performance.

Castres could not handle the Gary Owens that Toulouse were sending up. I counted at least 7-8 kicks where Castre missfielded the ball and lost possession.
Castres made a large number of unforced errors when in possession, no14 Milford had real butter fingers.
Kicking out of defence was weak.
There was generally a lack of support when in attack. Too many times the Castre player carrying the ball was isolated and the ball was immediately turned over in the tackle.

Toulouse ran out easy winners not by doing anything special but by playing simple efficient rugby and not making any unforced errors.

If Edinburgh can get that couple of percent improvement that Andy Robinson has mentioned then based on that performance by Castres Edinburgh could get the away win.

There is hope! Smile
