So after an encouraging preseason can we get off to a flier against the european champions?

| Just as long as the boys don't get TOO confident, (which we've seen happen in the past) then I am quietly hopeful for this season. I don't think Robbo will let them get over-cocky, so bring on the season!!! |

I'm worried. Things are going too well! When's the bubble going to burst?!

Our games with Munster have generally been close in recent years. I don't see Fridayt night being any different.
I'm a bit concerned about how our set piece is performing at the moment, but think that we have a good chance. The guys seem to have the right mindset under Robbo. In any case, if we are going to be contenders in the league this season, we need to win.
The really interesting thing will be how the ELVs affect Munster's gameplan, given that much of it revolves around the maul. From what I've seen of them so far, it seems a lot more difficult to get much momentum. Munster, of course, are the masters of that facet of the game, so maybe they will cope better than others. |

I hope we can get the lineout sorted out in particular.
It would also be great to get 4000 along to the match. |

| Confidence should be high in the squad right now, but Munster will be a very hard test. They've strengthened their already strong squad over the summer, and will also be very confident of victory given their HC win. It looks as if we may be without Cairns and de Luca, which would be a real blow, and we obviously have issues in our set piece. Really looking forward to the game, and I'm sure we can win, but it's going to be very difficult. |

| English champions and European Challenge Cup holders are one thing but European champs are a whole different ball game ...... BUT .... If the team play like we know they can, I think they can sneak this one. |

Any chance of Hamilton being fit?
Munchkin and Gissing in the 2nd row please.
And get Ford and Kelly doing throwing overtime this week. |

| Does anyone know if either Deluca or Cairns will make the game. If not will Houston be fit to play at inside? |

Agonisingly, I'm missing the first home match of the season for the 3rd year running!
Munster will be a step up from Wasps and Bath, but there's no reason to fear them. We've beaten European champions in the past and on current form can do it again. It would be great to get off to a winning start, but mustn't get too disheartened if we lose to the best side in European rugby (don't think we will though). It's a long season and it's starting tough. Bring it on. |

| I had a strange dream last night that our first league match was against Leinster, but it was the day after the Bath match and we lost 29-21. I remember thinking how odd it was that this match was scheduled immediately after the friendly and that the guys must have been really tired but still managed to keep a fairly tight score. Weird! |
