You're all ahead of me here. How does this rugger/footie weekend thing actually work in practice? i.e. what are we saying to whom, how do we identify them and what's the basis of the sales pitch? It is as clear as mud to me from the article.

It's obviously not at that stage yet. All they've done as far as I can see is announce that they're entering a marketing partnership.

According to this mornings Metro they have announced a similar deal with the Edinburgh Capitals (ice hockey team) who play right next door.
