Guys,
if any of you have problems with air travel or have time to do it otherways without the security hassles at the airport try www.seat61.com
It gives details on ferry's and trains and euro travel, based out of London it would at least offer some alternatives. |

Am just back from that neck of the Woods
Flew with Ryanair to Marseille direct from Edinburgh
Castres is about 250kms, Autoroute most of the way though.
Drove to Carcassonne , about 40kms away from Castres in about 4 hours with a decent stop in Montpelier.
Flights out are on Friday at around 6pm arriving 10pm local time
Ibis / Etap Hotels etc 5 mins from terminal
Flight back on Monday getting in around 6pm as well |

Ryanair also fly to Carcasonne, Rodez and Beziers, although you'd have to go by Dublin or London.
A lot closer than Girona |

GLASGOW Warriors got their French tour off to a winning start when they snatched a 26-21 win over Castres Olympique at the Stade Municipale in Millau last night courtesy of a last minute try from Mark McMillan.
The French side looked to be heading for a win with three tries before the Scots battled back with tries from Chris Kinloch, Daryl Gibson and Hefin O'Hare. |
I hope this will help raise the confidence of our players - on the other hand it might just make Castre a bit more wary of us! |

What have the Scottish Football Association got to do with pre season rugby friendlies? |

Accepted, but since this was in the form of a tournament, with several teams involved, I thought it might be a bit more meaningful. |

Not quite SFA, but according to the SRU report on the website the Warriors did it with an experimental side. A lot of first team were either on the bench or not there at all. We cannot take any expectations out of this. To finish 5th in the French league is tough, wouldn't we have been quite happy with 5th in the Magners League at the start of last season?
Just hope someone is keeping an eye on Castres for the rest of the tournament. |

FOR THOSE GOING TO CASTRES.
I contacted Edinburgh Rugby today to ask if they would be selling tickets for the match over in Castres. Duncan in the office there says that they will be sending out an e-mail to Season Tickets holders on Monday with details of the tickets, and an order form.
If there are non-ST holders going, I can post details on here once I get my e-mail. |

Thanks Loops, been wondering when they would become available. Next is deciphering the SNCF website for trains!
Though I have found that the DB site is more accessible, strangely, for French trains, you can't actually buy from them. |

Cheers Arlene, that seems to have worked (required a phone call, but all looking good).
In the past I've had pretty poor experience of buying French train tickets on the day -so much happier to be in physical posession of a ticket in advance.

I haven't received an e-mail yet, but as soon as I do I'll pass on the info. |
