I see that Cardiff are losing Xavier Rush for the first half of next season...

That's a big loss for them, as he can knock his way through a pretty thick brick wall. Unfortunately, we play both games against the Blues in the 2nd half of the season Sad

Big win for Munster last night. Must have been some performance to blank Leinster in Dublin. Perhaps we did well to play them before they got fully into their stride!

I have to admit I was wrong about their prospects for this season. I thought they were a team on the down last year, with a lot of players just about over-the-hill. They've certainly come back stronger this year, and look a better side than they did when winning the HC. Early days yet, I know, but they are in very impressive form at the moment.

Indeed. I saw the second half on TV and when I saw it had been 3-0 at half time I thought, "typical Munster"...but it actually developed into a pretty decent game with some good rugby from both sides. If they hadn't done so already, Munster have certainly underlined their title credentials with that result. Good job we don't play them again until February!

It was a good match. Leinster defended brilliantly but after 60 min they were knackered and Munsters pressure told. Rocky Elsom and CJ Van Der Linde started for Leinster but they had to defend most of the time.

Munster are better this year all over the pitch except in the lineouts. The squad is big too and McGahan said straight away that they're going for the ML as well as the HEC.

McGahan is a better coach then Kidney and Munster have really stepped up a level this season.

Munster were helped by a woeful kicking performance by the usually dependable Contepomi. They could and should have been at least 9-0 up within the first 20 mins.

That was inside the first 15 min and they wouldn't have been 9-0 up because when you convert the kick the restart takes place from the half way line instead of the 22. Munster could have scored 2 more tries and Leinster fans even admit they were outclassed.

I wasn't saying Munster were lucky. I was merely saying that had Contepomi been his usual reliable self then Leinster would have been first on the scoreboard.

That may have made it an entirely different game, but as it was Munster definitely deserved their victory.

What we saw was as good an advert for the Magners league as you will get. Okay the score wasn't particularly high but no-one took their eyes off the pitch and the first half be past in a flash. Two teams out on the park going at it full on for 60 or so minutes. My opinion that the Munster back division would just shade it was correct.
Perhaps our boys should watch that match in order to see the level of commitment and the intensity required to win matches.
Whether McGahan turns out to be a better coach than Declan Kidney remains to be seen, but if you turn down an opportunity to go back to Auz then you must beleive you are on to something. Best game of this years season so far. Very Happy
