What self respecting quality scrum half wouldn't want to come here and play against Montpelier, Newcastle and Toulon. Gentlemen, please form an orderly queue under the west stand!
Bill Mata. The second coming?

That back line of Toulon though - Trinh-Duc, Bastearaud, Fekitoa, Ashton, Peterson, Savea, Bonneval. Staart selling tickets today.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Ashton to Sale apparently! He clearly fancies his chances of getting to Japan after watching Mike Brown on the wing ins SA and doesn't fancy getting on the wing at Toulon with Savea arriving.

He can still resign if he has re-signed :D

Interesting and honest interview with Mark Bennett on the BBC.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/44559036

This will be the first season he’s been conditioning and playing for a full XVs season in a number of years. I hope we see him back to his best.

Hodge and Grant both sign on for another season.

Strokosch confirmed as a new strength & conditioning coach.

Stroker in alongside MacRae  My muscles are sore just reading that! There won't be many (if any) teams fitter than us this season.

Grant must be really good to get a new contract as Cockerill clearly not a fan of coaches with hair.

Good to have them on board.

I don't know about anyone else but I can't help but be frustrated watching Hastings and Turner running out for Scotland looking very comfortable at that level. They are both Edinburgh through and through but could spend the best part of a decade playing in the west. Throw in Fraser Brown, Robbie Nairn and Mike Blair and there's a fair bit of talent who we haven't been retaining for one reason or another.

Even with Huw Jones he has family in Edinburgh but it was Townsend who pursued him not Solomons - despite Solly being very close to the Stormers coaches.
