There are a lot of names there I don't recognise...

Don't know Lockington, Carmichael, Turley, Turner (unless George Turner is playing flanker?), Graham, Hill, McGregor, Hunter-Hill, Nagle, Purdon, Anderson.

Although Graham Hill used to be a racing driver. But I don't think it's him. Cos he's dead.

Bit more detail here (from Edinburgh Rugby on Facebook):

15 Austin Lockington (Melrose)
14 Damien Hoyland
13 Chris Dean
12 Chris Auld *
11 Tom Brown
10 Ruairi Howarth *
9 Grayson Hart

1 Ewan McQuillin *
2 Jake Kerr *
3 Simon Berghan
4 Lewis Carmichael (Melrose) **
5 Jack Turley (Heriot's)
6 George Turner
7 Gary Graham (Gala)
8 Jason Hill (Heriot's)

Subs
16 David McGregor (Heriot's)
17 Rory Sutherland *
18 Callum Sheldon *
19 Callum Hunter-Hill (Stewart's Melville) **
20 Andrew Nagle (Melrose)
21 Alex Glashan *
22 Charlie Purdon (Boroughmuir)
23 Callum Anderson (Melrose)
* BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy Stage 3 Player
** regional academy player supported by area Institute of Sport

So yes, George Turner's playing at 6, which he's done before for Heriot's (last season they had both Turner and Kevin Bryce, and only one of them could be hooker). Turley usually plays at 6 for Heriot's and has looked fantastic when I've seen him play, Hill is a decent number 8 too. Don't know much about the rest.

Ok, cheers. Great chance for some of these young guys to stand up and give a performance that could give their careers a boost. That's what these games are a bout to a certain extent. Hope they all do well and can put in performances they'll be proud of, I'll be there tonight to give them a bit of support.

Some good club stalwarts in the squad (Hill, Graham, Lockington, etc). I’ve also heard good things about Turley. Apparently he played NZ Schools a few years back. Have also heard that Hunter-Hill is a very promising young player.

Hmm, Gary graham is a good hard club player, not that big though. More of a no 8 than a 7. Nagle decent club back row nothing more.

Like the look of Howarth at 10, think only 18 but a decent all round game.

It would seem we have very little here in back 5 of scrum who could step up, unless they are holding back others to save them for weekend, although I would think most of our squad players could do with a game.

Didn't see the game but what wad causing the injuries? Can't think of a team having so many in a short space of time? Haven't heard of any dirty play or anything, was it just terrible luck?

The injuries to Burleigh, Beard and Watson all looked fairly innocuous from where I was sitting - didn't see any foul play (although in fairness I'd had a few by that stage so my vision might have been clouded !). Couldn't really see what happened to Grant and Gilchrist.

I think the really worrying thing though is not what's going on on the field but rather the number of players that seem to be getting injured in training/the captain's runs. Quite a few games this season we seem to have had last minutes injuries/withdrawals which does make me wonder whether there's something weird going on with the training/conditioning.

Just bad luck I think. I think Watson and Grant actually clashed heads with each other. They were quite a big team but it wasn't a dirty game at all. We are on some run of injuries this year though!

Went along tonight as nothing else on...

Turley looked good (in fact the club players were generally not out of place) and schooldays look like he is getting back to his best. Not a bad game. Turner seems a bit of a bammer which is no bad thing.

Entertaining and open game, with lots of decent running rugby. I thought the standouts for Edinburgh were Turley and Chris Auld. Turley isn't the biggest lock, but he was excellent in the loose, and Auld made some terrific breaks.

Thought Turley was excellent in the loose, might translate well as an eight. Chris Auld had several really nice breaks, thought Jake Kerr looked good too. Gary Graham had a real barnstormer as well.

We need more of these A games to let these lads play more.
