European Challenge Cup

Postby SMOKIE on Tue Sep 13, 2016 12:02 pm

I haven't seen any mention of anyone going to the away match in Timisoara on 15 October.

I'm booked to go and, on emailing the Timisoara Saracens re tickets, have been told that the tickets are free :) in order to fill the stadium.

I know at least 10 who are all booked up and ER will get an allocation of tickets. ( maybe even charge us for them  ). The supporters club will discuss with the club and will post any information on this strand when it's available.
Hope to see you there.

I'll be there, along with young Master NG and Little Miss NG. Mrs NG will presumably be enjoying the spa or similar.

Two nights in Timisoara, one night on a sleeper train, 2 nights in Bucharest. Flights from Edin to Stn to Romania were £75 each, return.

Looking forward to it, will be our first Euro away game (not counting the final v Gloucester last year).

Squad up on the ERC site

Props: Bryce, Cosgrove, Dell, Dickinson, McCallum, Nel, Sutherland
Hookers: Cochrane, Ford, McInally, Turner
Locks: Bresler, Carmichael, Gilchrist, Mata, McKenzie, Toolis
Backrow: Bradbury, Du Preez, Fihaki, Hardie, Manu, Ritchie, Watson
Scrumhalves: Fowles, Hidalgo-Clyne, Kennedy
Flyhalves: Kinghorn, Tovey, Weir
Centres: Burleigh, Dean, Rasolea, Tofilau
Back 3: Allen, Brown, Bryce, Helu, Hoyland, Northam, Scholes

No Beavon, but space for McCallum, makes signing him look very odd now.

So basically everyone except Beavon then?

Are there any other fully time players who miss out?

Hopefully this means that Mata is getting close to being available. After coming from the Olympics I would have thought he would have been ready by now, havent heard he is injured.

Berghan's not there either, which is not good. Nel, Bryce and Dell are our tighthead options it seems.

Murray McCallum, loosehead for the U20s last season with a better tryscoring record than the wingers.

Has there been any update on tickets for the Timisoara match? I called Edinburgh Rugby ticket office on Friday and they say they still don't know about an allocation.

Are there any plans for supporters to meet up for a pre / post match drink? I hear there is a sports bar near the stadium called Pago if nowhere else has been identified yet.

In the absence of anything else being suggested, I reckon this sounds like a go-er :)
