Possible I suppose but I think it's just more likely that the club are keeping his contract news back (hopefully along with Fruean) for the launch of the Season Tickets and announcement on where we will be playing next season. With Bresler and Fruean added the squad is 45 strong so I can't see us adding any more to that. There are a lot of young guys in there but 45 is a nevertheless a big squad for our budget, particularly when we are still operating at the modest end of the supply network for the national side.

Our first choice front row will be on duty with Scotland and if Cockers does what we all hope he can do with the pack it wouldn't be at all surprising to see Gilcho and Toolis in the Scotland squad, likewise Watson, Hardie and Bradbury, perhaps CDP and Dell, too.

If Sam H-C is playing well behind a go-forward pack I reckon he will away with Scotland as will Weir and Hoyland.

If we take into account the inevitable injuries, it doesn't take too much before that 45 man squad starts looking a bit thin

It will be 46 with a new loosehead prop: It's quite usual as quantity and I can't see us add a lot more (if any) to that... We'll have to deal with the scotland call-up, but the more the better. It's just a sign that our team is doing well. At some point in the season, the squad will look thin in some positions if we're unlucky but we can't do much against that, except having a great physio...

Noticed that Robbie Fruean was listed at 12 for the Baba's in last night's game against Ulster. Did anyone watch the game and if so how did he look in the inside centre position?
Bill Mata. The second coming?

I didn't see the game live but he certainly didn't appear in the highlights reel on YouTube.

Hard to judge in an end of season chuckabout but he was a right royal pain for the Ulster defence.

Surprised he didn't feature on the highlights, he made a couple of tremendous breaks and always looked to Make yards. The barbarian back line was a little stilted mainly due the half backs being pretty poor (Madigan was woeful!) so it was hard to judge properly but he looks like a really high class player that will benefit from a proper pre season to sharpen up. Looked like he could fill either centre berth happily

Also the Barbarians play drunk.

Fruean's quality is unquestionable but his durability...We'll see.

Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Good news. Anything said about him playing for Samoa?

not seen anything on Samoa but on his medical history Mark Palmer of the ST tweeted

"Has the potential to be a quality addition. Medical history raises valid concerns but Edinburgh have done considerable due diligence"

Was talk of extra medical test etc would have to assume he will be released for Samoa 7s if selected as it appeared to be the stumbling block in the Bath talks.

Doc Robbo probably had him on the table for an extended period of time.
