Whilst I would love to have a squad who could emulate the Weegie rugby style I know that aint going to happen. However whatever the style of rugby we play it has to be one that is going to win games and one that we can actually execute properly. Too often in the Solomons era we were playing a style of game that clearly the players didnt like and couldn’t execute and was very rarely going to win games, and we didnt win many, it was more a matter of waiting for the other team to make mistakes. It was dreary, dull, old fashioned, limited and ultimately a failure.
It's also not like Solly looked all too likely to make us competitive even the season with 11 home wins when it came to the crunch and needing to win games to come top 6 we crumbled. There wasn't much progression from season to season, players didn't show great development and it didn't look like he knew how to turn the ship around. Whereas Cockers seems like he has a good handle on the issues and sounds like the man who will turn this around.
I think if folks see players - especially the younger kids - developing and improvements from week to week they will be happy.
I also think Cockers will want to show he isn't a dinosaur and can play nice stuff.
