Turner's had a good start to the season, but I don't see them picking a guy with a single-digit number of starts to play against the All Blacks. If he keeps this form up I can certainly see him touring next summer, but not in the AIs, or the 6N when Brown should be back.

Per ER tweet Hugh Fraser has stepped away from pro game to concentrate on his studies.

Shame looked a good prospect. Perhaps study and rugby not compatible under Cockers regime?

Pretty rotten news that. Doesn't inspire much confidence in the Edinburgh set-up when a top prospect just decides to leave.

Really hope they bring in one of Shiel/Simmers soon, need something new at scrumhalf.

Or he has decided his heart isn't in it. He's have had to apply for uni weeks, if not months ago. It is a bit weird that he signed a pro deal and then went and applied to uni. Fair play to him for making the decision.

Not every one sees rugby as a viable career. Commercial property could be lucrative for the young lad.

He'll have been at uni for a long time before this as well, a lot of academy guys do uni work as well as rugby (so do some pros mind).

It's not the full story, likely he just wasn't fancied at Edinburgh and if you're not good enough here ...

Need Shiel to come through now, we desperately need some talent at 9!

Aye, full story probably has a mix of no prospect of game time soon and maybe opportunities presenting themself else where. He seems to have identified commercial property so he have already have something lined up for the end of the year if that's when he graduates.

If you don’t want to dedicate yourself 100% to being a rugby player, you’re not going to be very good. Cockerill May have told him something similar, rather than the soft soap he would have got from many at the SRU.

Scotland Sevens core squad is announced later today will Fife, Farndale and Johnstone be included or will Cockerill get his way and have them at ER?

If they are, who will replace them in the Sevens squad? Tom Brown?

What was the craic with Murdo McAndrew, was he seen as not as good as the other prospects after he returned from France? Shame as if we were to give Baggot a run it would make some sense to use his club half back partner seeing as 9 has been an issue too.

Obviously he seems to have fallen off the pro radar.

European squad on the site.
Dickinson, Fenton, Hunter-Hill, and Galbraith the full-time players not included. Shiel and Crosbie from the academy are in.

Yeah he is.
Forgot to add Miller to the not in list. Don't think he's injured so not a great sign to have Crosbie picked over him.

That is a good sign, to get him and Dell back fit will be a boost.

Assuming it is the squad for the 1st two games it may just be a sign that Miller isn't seen as an option at 8 ahead of Bradbury/CdP. But you are right, not a great sign for him.
