Kyle Traynor is available as well, I think. Now that was a front row.

Nice and easy start for him ... Only up against Brodie Retallick!

Also the Thistle Rugby Pod had Phil Godman on - yet another ex Edinburgh player who criticised the good old sign all journeyman policy and correctly noted that it contributed to the mess we are in.

He also stuck up for Hodge saying the Scotland players think he is a good coach and whilst I agree with Godman that Hodge was on a shot to nothing to make things worse is why he probably didn't get kept on as HC.

Hmmm...So nearly 2 full seasons attached to Embra and 15 sub appearances. 5 minutes with the Force and he's finally getting a pro start - to take on Rettalick!

Did wonder if he had actually started for ER. With the Force hammered with injuries and the Chiefs pretty much full strength suspect the result may be one he is used to with ER.

Cruden just stepped Carmichael at halfway and try Chiefs.

Retallick ran a nice blocking line on Carmichael, then Cruden threw a forward pass

The Force's lineout has been shocking, otherwise Carmichael has had a good half, he made his tackles and has cleared out well.

I'd like to see him get a run ball in hand, he might surprise a few onlookers.

One other thing, when he stands near Retallick, Carmichael looks wee.

Certainly not looked out of place and the experience will be worth its weight in gold for him. He must be good money for claiming a starting slot next year? GC must be a worried man?

Brodie Retallick is 6'8 and 120kgs to be fair so makes everyone look wee - there's a reason he's called lurch!

I did see the block at half time - first time I saw it I presumed Cruden must've stepped him to get in all that space. Rennie loves the block from kicks though so Glasgow fans will see a lot of that next year.

I'd be more worried if I was McKenzie and Toolis. I really don't think Gilchrist was re-signed to twiddle his fingers on the bench. Also, before Cockers was announced Gilchrist was apparently off so I do wonder if Cockers had a word with Johnson and Petrie to get him to extend his stay...

Carmichael played well against one of the best club sides in the world and ex player of the year, really begs the question why he couldn't get a look in here in our glorious pursuit of 8th place.
