As someone who was lucky enough to be at the match, I can confirm it was a very good performance from the Edinburgh team, albeit quite a lame one from Quins. We were very solid in defence bar the last couple of minutes.

For me Toolis was our most impressive performer.

Great win.
Always difficult to assume anything this being Edinburgh but IF we beat Timasrsa and get try BP my back of a fag packet calculation is that this could result in a home tie against La Rochelle.
Irrespective is it expected that any home QF would be plasyed at Murrayfield rather than Myreside?

Humble apologies Rico! Looks like I somehow missed an entire page of comments.Entirely agree with your analysis-though I wouldn't be surprised if the SRU would insist on Murrayfield where surely we could get close on 10k against any of La Rochelle,Quins or Cardiff so big jump in gate money from 5/6k at Myreside. (And as someone pointed out EPRC requirements may insist on a ground with a larger capacity than Myreside.)
Still nice to have a "good" problem for once!

That's great.
Credit to the duo Kennedy-Weir who were able to lead us to two away wins. They did not waste the work of their forwards. Next target: the home quarter final!

I expect a lot of changes against Timisoara:

Dell - Cochrane - Nel (Cosgrove - McInally - Berghan)
McKenzie - Carmichael (Gilchrist)
Mata - Dupreez - Ritchie (Fihaki, Manu if fit)
Hidalgo-Clyne - Tovey (Fowles - Weir, Scholes if fit)
Brown - Rasolea - Tofilau - Helu (Burleigh)
Bryce

I suspect Hodge will go all out with 1st team selection to make sure, get the TBP win by half time and then sub the main guys. He will also want to make the first game at Myreside an event and not a reserve team outing, this might TonySpreadbury off the big crowd somewhat? Hopefully Nel gets through the assessments and gets a start as he needs game time before the 6Ns.

You're right, I had forgotten that there was a week of rest between the Timisoara and the Munster game. So there is no absolute need to rest players. And as this is the first ever game at Myreside...
Anyway, I would be glad to see Carmichael, Tofilau and Bryce starting! And I suspect a change in the half-backs to keep Kennedy and Weir on their toes...

Agree with Doedin I think we will put a strong team out, would be surprised if McInally and Gilchrist as co-captains don't start (assuming fit) particularly McInally who as GWC FP has been bit of a poster boy for the move. May see the odd fringe player brought in but we need to get the win and try bonus point and while based on the away fixture we should achieve this, our recent history has plenty of "should have won/scored" moments.

My brother and I were also lucky enough to be there. I salute the Gunners fans who made the 800 mile round trip. Ours was only about 140. Edinburgh were so well worth this win. Quins and their fans knew the game was up with 20 minutes still to go. Excellent performance. Quins were 1/7 to win this match before kick-off!

I wonder if Toolis will be overlooked again this 6 Nations? He was unfortunate in the autumn, given his form. The Gray brothers will have the starting positions no doubt, but he's surely worth the bench place. Best line out operator in Scotland?

The highlights are now available on the club website, on Twitter. Not to be any way churlish about such a good result, but why didn't Dean just play the simple pass to Hoyland in the play that lead up to our final penalty? It was a two on one and Hoyland would have been in for a simple try. Must have had his reasons, I guess, but not easy to fathom them from watching the brief highlights.

Swinson had a blinder for the Weeg as well. 2nd Row emerging as a real position of strength for Scotland at the moment. In addition the current crop we will have Bresler qualified in the summer and some great youngsters coming through in Cummings and Carmichael.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

Marland Yarde was right on Hoyland but Dean did make a bit of a mess of it, good break though so more of those please.
