Back row don't look a good mix and again a lot of the heavy lifting and carrying being done by the young props who are doing ok again. We will be lucky to avoid 50-60 point defeat here!

Scrum isn't going too well but again it's McCallum and Cosgrove showing well in a dire pack performance.

The defence is just so passive, waiting for Ulster to hit the line at pace, you just cant do that.

Young props are doing all they can, scrum is actually not bad, they are not getting full value for their work there. Ulster 8 is dealing with poor ball better than Bradbury.

Tovey and Kennedy both kicking very poorly, taking momentum out of the attack with badly weighted kicks. Might as well give Kinghorn a go at 10.

Enjoyable second half so far. Piatau is something else.

Injured now unfortunately.

McCallum has been excellent again, it's a disgrace we've not signed him to a pro deal yet.

Credit where it's due, the defence in the second half has been far, far better. However, when will Edinburgh put an 80 minute performance in? We're far too inconsistent.

It was Fraz, hopefully he's ok.

Good second half, atrocious first half. Consistency is just not good enough, we're consistently inconsistent. The team is good enough to do well in this league but we aren't mentally switched on. Need a coaching change to stop the boys fannying around for a half and go the full 80.

Losing bonus point in Ulster is not a terrible result. Yet it is so frustrating as Edinburgh so often look like a decent side, then give up possession / momentum with silly mistakes. Dougie Hall put his finger on it, Edinburgh are not confident so go for the ambitious move too often when they just need to work through the basics.

Still quite heartened by that. A lot of young / fringe players came on and stood up OK. Let's hope the various injuries are not serious.

Well a lbp but despite the first half defensive omnishambles the game was there for the winning. So LawrenceBryce inconsistent it is maddening.

Rollercoaster. I gave up at 24-5 assuming we were going to get beasted, watched the Glasgow game for 5 mins and decided they weren't going to do anything, so turned back to Alba to find us at 24-10 half time. The second half was like night and day defence-wise, and still looking pretty good in attack.

It has to be said the mental stuff needs sorted out - that game was there for the winning, and teams with good leaders and mental strength would have got the job done. The temp prop Appiah? Was a waste of space, just a penalty machine coach killer. To be fair he was probably walking around in a daze wondering how he ended up playing flanker.

At his second penalty, we were one quick recycle away from a try that could - should - have given us a 5 pointer bonus point win in Ulster. Maddening.

Taxi for Hodge at 35 mins. By full time, I've absolutely no idea...

PS Will we be able to put out 23 players for the Leinster game?
PPS go Nick Beavon! Didn't look out of place, scrums were fine, what was all the fuss about?
And finally - one Kinghorn kick v Munster, and one efficient recycle (or Tovey pass to hand to Hoyland tonight), and we'd have taken 9 points from Mulster.

Taxi for Hodge if he cannot get his team to perform for 80 minutes. This team is good enough, we have a lot of good players. However, it's not acceptable for them only to turn up for a half, that comes down to the coach.

Beavon did do well on debut to be fair, McCallum is exceptional. Sign him up.

Much better defence in the second half, and a deserved if surprising LBP. There were some good performances tonight, including Mackenzie, Toolis, Bradbury, Tovey, Brown and (apart from a couple of kicks) SHC. We looked decent with ball in hand, and our backs looked more dangerous than they have for some time. We were much more aggressive in the tackle in the second half, which made a big difference. We have to learn that that level of aggression is the minimum acceptable at any time in any game. If we don't, we can't win games at this level.
