Will we get an injury update on Dicko today?

It didn't look good at the time.

..... and it looked like an ankle/foot which was what has kept him out for 9m wasn't it?
Bill Mata. The second coming?

Think it was his hamstring at the start of season, then his foot in the 1872 match. I also thought I heard in the pre match interviews Cosgrove say he was out for 6weeks?

Has Bradbury hit a wall in terms of performance?

And Kinghorn who looked disconcertingly like Jack Cuthbert on Friday night.

Probably the two of them are tired and need a rest as they're still very young. It's surely not helping them that they are playing in a directionless team with no confidence or leadership either.

I'd probably give both a rest - Bradbury may be crocked anyway - with the view to playing them vs La Rochelle.

Is this not the first season for both on full time schedules? Always a risk that they would hit troughs as well as peaks. As you say a rest isn't a bad thing.

It must be very difficult at that age to come in and suddenly seem to have the whole team's hopes on your shoulders. Reminds me of the national team for the first fifteen years or so of this century.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

I think both Bradbury and Kinghorn could do with a rest.

We are asking a lot from the young guys - Bradbury, Ritchie, Kinghorn, Carmichael, McCallum (especially) should be coming in as 20/21 year olds and being brought on by wiser heads, but they have been carrying the team lately, to some extent.

They have all stood up, which bodes well for the future but we need a quick fix for a week on Friday for the trip to Scarlets, we need to build some kind of positive momentum going into the La Rochelle game

I agree. I think that Bradbury might need to adjust his diet a bit as well because he suddenly looks like he's carrying about half a stone more than he needs (which won't be helping with the tiredness).

The young guys must also be on a strength and conditioning programme designed to build them up as first year pros? I imagine they were expecting to make the bench and have a few starts on a phased basis. They have all done well given the circumstances they have found themselves in. McCallum for example would probably have been on S&C programme etc with aim of building him up for next season and then suddenly finds himself playing more game time at higher level than he imagined? No doubt the experience will pay off in the long run but a few are looking a bit shattered by now, Bradbury has been a workhorse this season.

It's a difficult one, with 14 forwards either injured or with the Scotland squad, every available forward had to be pressed into service against Ospreys. Turner was the only one not on the teamsheet and he'd be there as 24th man. I don't see how to avoid over-playing the young guys during the international windows unless there are fewer injuries (unlikely), a bigger squad (unlikely) or more stage 3 academy lads to call on.

It is not ideal.

I agree it's not ideal, we could rest Kinghorn though by moving Bryce/Scholes to 15 and bringing Rasolea/Allen in. Bradbury we have less options but we could've easily called Miller back rather than him going on the 7s.
