Kinghorn off with 7s

Postby The Feral Goat on Tue Apr 04, 2017 1:04 pm

In the squad for HK and Singapore as is Graham.

Good opportunity for him to get away from ER and maybe win a match, although not really a rest.

Didn't see that coming, but it could be a very smart move.

Think the relevant phrase related to "a rest" starts with " A change is as good as . . "

Young lad not long out of school thrown into deep end playing for a jamesmatthew team and losing every week. Hardly a successful development path! Going to HK to play for 7s with some of his mates and enjoying himself is just what he needs to restore confidence and get his mojo back. However it says a lot for how the rest of the ER season is viewed by those in charge. Interesting to see how many of the supporters decide to do the same and look for something fun to do on a Friday night!

Think we should cut Kinghorn a little slack. Any player, no matter their age or experience can make a mistake. See Exhibit A - Willie Le Roux against Leinster the day after the Edinburgh game.

Great call to get him out of the confidence sapping environment at ER until next season when the new broom arrives. Seasons bust and nothing to play for anyway. Just got to throw the 1872 game to help Glasgow into playoff place and that's it. Anyone else think that having derby days on the last game of the season is a completely nuts idea?

Agree that Kinghorn is best out of the Edinburgh Rugby environment right now

As for the new broom... We are getting a new broom handle but as far as I am aware the same SteveWalsh coated bristles will be brushing off on the players

I'd love after a bad day in the office to be whisked off to Hong Kong!

In all seriousness it's a great opportunity for him to have some fun and a nice bit of travel and time away from Edinburgh. From a playing point of view it'll be interesting to see him as a playmaker as that's presumably where he'll play as Scott Wight's understudy.

With Graham's acceleration, speed and agility he's going to be absolutely unreal in 7s - very excited to watch him play out there!

Kinghorn better watch out .Graham is a real talent who has proved himself in the tough world of Prem 1 which Kinghorn didn't play in.

will be gunning for his number 15 place at Edinburgh

It doesn't have to be a binary choice, they can easily play in the same side, Hoyland, Kinghorn, Graham looks like a good back three to me

those in charge have the same view of the rest of the season as you do - and I share it as well, suspect we all do. No point anyone pretending its anything else. Treading water (hopeful) until next season

certainly turned out that way this season.

1872 wasn't broke, quite the opposite with back to back festive games, don't understand why we agreed to change it
