But Hodge you were head coach for most of the season if he is such a talent with such a good skill set why not pick him and give him the opportunity?
"And with hooker, like nines and tens, they are very specialist positions. Hooking’s their one job so if there are no injuries you can struggle to get game time"
Why is hooker so different, why need an injury to others to get a chance?
Turner is presumably at training so knows he has to hook and throw so is Hodge saying for a hooker his actual hooking and throwing is not good enough (their one job) or he is not training well enough to earn the chance, but other aspects of his game are very good?
All about as clear and decisive as one of our backs move

when do SH players usually sign until? It would normally be season based and I can't see why Hardie should be any different unless he always intended to go back to the SH

Tichtheid wrote:I'm not overly bothered, tbh, obviously he is a classy player, but his style means he is gong to get hurt and 13 league games plus 5 cup outings over the two seasons for us isn't a great return and we have a bit of depth in the back row (famous last words, eh?).

can't argue with that myself.

Appreciate Hardie only arrived after the RWC but anyone know how many games the likes of Ford or other regular internationals (if we have any) managed over the last 2 seasons for ER as a comparison, I am guessing about double maybe?

Don’t think Cockerill will be waiting for the videos surely he will be sitting in the sunny south of France tonight tuning into BBC Alba with a biere blonde to enjoy live Pro12 action 9th v 10th from a packed and raucous Myreside and not questioning his career direction one bit.
