Appeared today, but none the wiser re STs

Very helpful and informative

To be fair at least they're making changes to fan experience at Myreside as many think necessary.

How many people will it put off buying a season ticket if they have to wait a while? It's hardly an impulse buy.

Baws. Saying you have a plan and actually having one are different things.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

seems clear there is at least one issue to be resolved re the move. Amazingly ER don't have all the levers in this. Talks will be going on quietly and privately, hopefully positively. We ain't going to get a blow by blow account, nor do ER have a magic wand

It's very odd and the lack of steer one way or the other regarding where we are playing is concerning. Hopefully sorted soon as it's important to give a positive message to long suffering fans

Maybe it is just me but it feels that the fans, particularly those paying up front for the season tickets are being short changed. I understand that any negotiations have to be confidential and can take time but they can do a damned better job of communicating timescales etc without tipping their hand re outstanding matters. As well as the actual league games presumably they are going to going to play pre season games that need to be announced. They have also been wheeling Cockerill out for business contacts/lunches etc but not the fans. Surely they could have announced a 'get to know you session' for the fans in the interim or are we, the supporters, being clearly shown where we rate in Petrie and co's priorities?

I'm beginning to suspect it's going to be like last season again. All pre-season fixtures away, Murrayfield for part of the year then back to Myreside. Come on Edinburgh, at least give us a wee clue.

Really if they've decided on cost do they think that the tickets won't sell even if a venue hasn't been fixed, supporters will go to wherever the team are playing? won't they.

I suspect they were already to go then all this stuff about Books and conferences got legs. At present Edinburgh don't know how many games they will have against whom, probably one advantage they might have over the rest of the pro12 who have sold tickets on the basisnof a number of games which they do not yet know if they can deliver.
Happy days.

Probably right, but if it is the case they just need to come out and say that, say Something!

I'm not a fan of clubs issuing continuous statements with nothing to say but in this case I think they need to show a bit of respect to the supporters and tell them what is going on. Even if it is just there are a few issues to iron out, or they are waiting to hear what happens with the league. Doesn't need to be fully detailed just an update to show they haven't just forgotten to put the tickets on sale!

Not sure if the delay will affect sales but the longer it goes on people start making plans and wives partners etc know the ticket hadn't been bought so they can do other things now, it doesn't take a huge amount to lose a customer at the moment.

Pro 12 has not responded to journalists asking about conferences. Not sure what Edinburgh can meaningfully say without giving the game away. Pro12 is always poor in its comms

Whatever the reasons the combination of continuing delay and lack of communication is frustrating there was the start of a little bit of positive momentum over the off season with Bennett signing, Cockerill, Fruean, Dell in the lions raised profile and interest and yet there is nothing coming out to try and capitalise on it and win back fans that have left over the last few season or attract new ones.

Perhaps its down to the Saffers joining the Pro 12. All to be sorted by Friday according to the Times. Two weeks mid winter sipping some Cape red sounds quite appealing. Don't know how the mooted split into "conferences" will work out.

Fruean has arrived - eerie silence. Cockerill has also arrived - only announced to the business club. Glasgow Warriors tv have put out 13 video interviews in the past month so it is possible.

The first Connacht ST purchase deadline is Friday so any ST delay must be Edinburgh/ SRU induced
