Not sure what this is based on, but if these are right then Edinburgh couldn't have had a much better set of opening fixtures. Cardiff winnable but no panic if not, Dragons and Treviso should be comfortable home wins, with potential for BPs. 10 or 11 points from 3 games?

Fixtures look correct - Ulster have announced on Facebook that they are playing Cheetahs at home as their first game of the season

Simon Thomas broke it on Twitter last night. Really enjoying your optimism New Gunner, I've a really good feeling for this season. Hopefully a good few victories to celebrate, on a wet and windy Friday night at Myreside.

Then into the President's Suite for a beer and a chat with a few of the players... oh wait...

No matter. It never rains at Myreside.

It never just"rains" at Myreside, usually mixed with a decent wind.

We have eleven home matches this coming season, we are away to Cardiff, so we must have five of the remaining "out of conference" fixtures at home, even if we have two home games against Glasgow, it still leaves a decent chance of home fixtures against Munster and the Os.

The league is in the bag, lads.

Tough start for the Cheetahs. Ulster Munster Leinster and Ospreys in the first five games. Might backfire on the league if they start badly, gives the naysayers a chance to jump on it and say 'see, they're all a bunch of rejects, stupid idea, blah blah, told you so'

Good schedule for Edinburgh though. Hopefully we can get a bit of early season momentum.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

At this stage I think you're looking at something like this for your fixtures against Conference A:

Munster A
Connacht H
Ospreys H
Cardiff A
Glasgow H
Zebre A
Cheetahs H

Home and away derbies against Glasgow on top of that.

I'm assuming they'll use the seedings they set the conferences up with plus you'll play 1 Irish side at home and 1 away, then the same for the Welsh. If you get the higher ranked Welsh side at home then you'll play the higher ranked Irish side away.

Depends on how they work their conditioning, if they just roll them on they could start the season like a train and fade by Christmas, if they give the players a break they will start slowly. It would be nice if they shook things up a bit with a few big scalps early on, then rolled over to us!

Is that tour to S.A. before the Euro double header? Hopefully not before a trip to Russia.

Will be interesting to see what squads Edinburgh and Glasgow send as Glasgow have a trip to S.A. before Euro game weeks 1 and 2.
