The SRU CEO did say at the outset that, if Myreside was a success, the SRU would consider putting in a 3G (do I mean 4G?) pitch in a following season. Quite right that the SRU kept the pump-priming investment in Myreside to a sensible level and didn't try to build Rome in a day.

The attendances will be some way short of what the SRU was hoping for, but with a bit of luck in the Cup and in challenging for third spot in the Conference, the crowds could start to grow and I could see the SRU taking the plunge on laying a plastic-kind-of pitch, which would be a big advance.

Good stuff. Here's hoping we can get a big crowd.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Thanks for the heads up as neither my son or I have received an email. Will call them tomorrow.

Ordered our tickets today. Clearly not expecting much of a crowd as they have only released the lower east stand and pitchside areas. Begs the question why this one is not at Myreside? Is there a minimum capacity standard at this stage of Challenge Cup? I didn’t think so for this tournament. After the winter thus far, Myreside is going to feel like an away tie for the team!
Bill Mata. The second coming?
