On a cold, dank miserable Monday having tried all weekend to avoid any newspaper, radio or tv coverage of that AlainRolland omni shambles on Saturday and in particular the overpowering (but unfortunately deserved) welsh smugness this news has possible lightened my day up a little .... just a little. Please let it be true!

An here was me thinking that cold, dark and miserable were your favourite conditions! I have to say I have done the same,

The rumours on Scott and Dickinson are a welcome ray of light.

Possibility that Meatball may be moving on next season, away to Worcester Warriors on loan , potential move for next year.
Duncy has been unlucky with injury whilst with us , if he is going all the best to him .

If he is now fit, and this is correct, it's the same MO as K Bryce. Sent away on a long term loan when we have existing injury crisis in his position. No way he will be with us next season under these circumstances IMO.

Did anyone watch the half time Alba piece with Roddy Grant? There were a couple of guys training with long dreadlocks who I didn't recognise - possibly on trial?

CdP out is a shame but not really a surprise with Mata, Bradbury and Barclay able to play 8 with Crosbie, Ritchie, Carmichael and Barclay covering 6. Does make me wonder if there might be room for Hardie ?

Scott, Barclay and Hickey in is great business. Two proven Pro12 class acts and a 10 who is very promising. Other than 9 can't think of any position that obviously needs strengthened.

Careful now, overhyping Hickey will only bring out more of Joe Soap's indignation and superpower JPEGs... can't imagine what would happen if anyone mentioned Rory Hutton...

It's a bit of a shame about CdP, he has been a very good player for us through some very lean times, it's a pity he won't be around to share in any (fingers crossed) improvement in the fortunes of the team

Has it been confirmed that CdP is leaving? Not seen this anywhere.

According to Mark Palmer in the Sunday Times, Cornell has not been offered an extension to his contract. He also says that Sam has been offered a new contract but there is a disagreement between the club and Sam over the value, also confirms that Matt Scott is close to agreeing a return to Edinburgh.

The Offside Line has an article today quoting a 'source close to' SHC to the effect that he will be leaving at the end of the season, destination unclear. Mark Palmer's view was that ER offered Sam a contract, but they are apart in terms of His market value. If Sam is looking for a big increase on the deal he signed around the time he was Pro 12 young player of the year, I can see why the valuations might differ. Seems a shame, but c'est la vie.

Head Coach Richard Cockerill today confirmed that back-row Cornell du Preez, scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne and stand-off duo Duncan Weir and Jason Tovey will leave the club at the end of the season.

Interesting he says the squad he inherited didn't have enough backs as he lets 3 go.

Wish them the best, but none is a major shock. You'd think with the new signings that we're set for FH next season in Cockerill's eyes, and backrow's got a ton of young talent coming through.

The issue's still who we have as starting SH next year, by a long way the biggest weakness in the team and even when Fowles has done well off the bench he just doesn't convince when he starts.

Rumours and supposition confirmed then.

Good luck to them, think they'll all do alright with their next move.
