Last year he was given time off by Edinburgh to deal with off field personal issues. Now they are resolved he is kicking on.

More good news, Carmichael extends his deal another two years. I think he's generally done alright when played, and looks better the more game-time he gets.

Good stuff, another decent young player looks like he has the ability to play second row or 6 equally well and always works hard.

Interview in the Offside Line suggests that there are more re-signings expected to be announced this week, which is good news...

Burleigh, Deans, Du Preez and Mata would be top of my wish list if this is the case. Would also like to see Tovey re-signed.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

Another signing announcement this afternoon....
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

It's like a really expensive advent calendar isn't it?

I saw the Weeg jumped straight to an early opening of their big Xmas day "door" with the Gray Jr announcement. Big relief after all the Bristol chat!

Crosbie is on to his first senior contract, well deserved.

Very well deserved his ball carrying and general physicality for an academy player is mighty.

That leaves only DuPreez and Hardie as out of contract back rows but having added Barclay...seems doubtful both will remain at ER. Suspect DuPreez is not on big money (relatively speaking) at present he would not have been capped last time he signed an extension so the more likely to stay of the two I would think, even without the off field issues, although he could get the Josh Strauss project complete treatment.

I think both could be off.

Hardie is incredibly injury prone (largely due to his style of play) and is rarely available. He'll be on a decent wedge of cash as well so would free up a bit there. CDP is ok, but I don't think we would be massively weaker without him, especially if Crosbie, Bradbury and Mata can all play 8, which i think is CDP's best position.

Mata - 2 years
Crosbie - 2.5 years with immediate effect

Unless I have missed someone think our remaining OOC are

Players out of contract in 2018
P: Bryce, Marfo
H: Cochrane, Fenton, Turner
L: Bresler,
BR: du Preez, Hardie,
SH: Hidalgo-Clyne
FH: Tovey, Weir
C: Burleigh, Dean, Galbraith, Rasolea
B3: Bryce, Harries, Hoyland

Have any backs re-signed yet?

This is all really encouraging.

I’d like Hardie and CDP to sign on, too. Barclay will be a great addition, but he’ll be 32 by the time he gets to Edinburgh

I concur with your list. There is Miller-Mills and Shields signed to the end of the season as well. Pretty sure they were signings rather than loan deals? Pleased Crosbie's deal is with immediate effect, they have had a bargain half season out of him as far as I can see.
