Schoeman playing for the Bulls v the Reds this morning. First thing is work his way through a maul and sacked it for a turnover.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Which is why they are leaving

Some of the ones who have not enjoyed it are not leaving (presumably due to lack of equivalent or better offers elsewhere) - but having to put up with it. Which is how it should be.

Stuff them. If they liked the previous few regimes, where they weren’t pushed and as a result achieved nothing but pish performances, I don’t want them in the squad. When their contract runs out, good luck getting one somewhere else with that attitude. Pretty sure there are several who have left who are in that camp. If there are some remaining then they will not feature often.

Every coach has his methods and his players. Every player doesn't go well with any kind of coach. It's normal rugby life and human relationship.

The worst case situation is when there are conflicts or major difference of opinions within the coaching staff. It has been the case with Bradley and Back, and with Solomons and Hodge. Hopefully lessons are learnt are Cockerill can choose his own assistants.

I can't think who these players would be as everyone bar Miller and Hunter-Hill or the injured folks have played a considerable amount.

Don't think Cockers would play guys who don't want to train hard?

Yeah, as professionals they should be getting on with it and if they're putting in the performances it's all grand.

Presumably winning games makes it a lot more tolerable for the players.

Darcy Graham again electric for the 7s. Just worry he might not have the size for 15s.

I agree, and certainly as a wing. I think ER should consider him a specialist Full Back and develop him there. He could be electric with his acceleration and quick feet. It's like Lee Jones, cracking little player and fine at Pro level, but I'm always worried about him when he is on the wing for Scotland.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

It could be interesting Graham at 15 and Kinghorn on the wing?

I don't think it is fair to say everyone who is leaving of doesn't like the new "culture" doesn't want to train hard. There are just different ways of going about things. You don't need to like your boss to perform for them, so no reason to chase everyone out.

If you speak to players who played under Telfer a huge % of them hated the man, respected yes, liked.. no. Cockerill will be the same.

This is some try: https://twitter.com/WorldRugby7s/status ... 7920628736

If I recall right, a few years ago Alex Dunbar scored a try from about 30m out in a six nations game. At the time, it was claimed that he'd set a new record for top speed by a Scotland player. Think it was 34 km/h, they said Dunbar reached. Graham apparently goes faster than that, and whilst running significantly further (although in a much shorter game).

Edit: Might have been this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArFpe6RsdrU

Hadnt heard that about Dunbar, I would have thought there will hav a been a few who were quicker than him. Watching that though you don't realise how his body shape has changed and he has lost a yard but still a very good player. Saly I think we have missed a chunk of what should have been his best years as a player, not writing him off yet though. We seem to have been so unlucky with injuries in the centre.

Fantastic try by Graham though, he really has the potential to be special. I hope his size isn't going to be an issue, if you look at the likes of Steff Evans and D-Mac are not much bigger and they see to cope. So he is a hugely exciting prospect, the mix of styles of Kinghorn and Graham will be great to watch.

While the tall of Graham, Bryce seems to have been the standout 7s player this weekend. Wonder if there's some disconnect at Edinburgh

In fact top by some way. Graham was third tho.

Bryce is a very good player imo, both in attack and defence, and I would put him ahead of several of the back three in the pecking order. Either my assessment is flawed in some way or the coaches - or possibly just the backs coach - don't seem to fancy him at all, as he's only had a handful of starts this season. A pity, that.

There's no doubt that Graham is electric going forward and very talented, but I guess there are some concerns defensively because of his size. Cockers said something about him being 'run over' in his last club game, I didn't think he had been really, OK maybe the once but that happens. He is a very good defender, has the speed, hits his man and tackles bravely, but may be in a bit of an unequal contest against some of the bigger, heavier wingers. All that means though is that he is fielded for some games but not for others.

I hope he doesn't get put in the Bryce category of a good player who never gets called.
