Yeah, no idea what happened there. But you get the Ishtar.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

In the absense of an “Alumni” thread, Phil Burleigh and Sam Beard are turning out in the Canterbury midfield in the ITM Cup today

The ITM Cup is a veritable haven for ex-Edinbuggers! The ones I've spotted are:

Sam Beard - Canterbury
Hugh Blake - Bay of Plenty
Phil Burleigh - Canterbury
Murray Douglas - Northland
Jade Te Rure - Manawatu
Sasa Tofilau - Hawke's Bay

It sounds like a good gig for Mungo Mason, a speedy openside flanker should make his mark in the 7s. I see from the draft (Pro team players allocated to Premier clubs) that Glenn Bryce is also now in the 7s squad. Good, he isn't too far away, maybe get him back in the ER squad at some point!

Ross McCann, Stage 3 Academy winger last season, is also listed, he has apparently come on a lot as a wing, hope he goes well.

We are quite light at back three - if Kinghorn and Fife are at Scotland we're very short.

For what it's worth saw this on twitter: Robbie Davis the 9 https://twitter.com/neil_graham1/status ... 86950?s=19

Yeah definitely seem lacking for cover there. I'd say some of the 7s boys (McCann, Bryce, Farndale, Fergusson) are more likely to be on the radar to cover the back 3 this season before the teenagers in the Academy.

Almost wouldn't be surprised to see Edinburgh add someone as a late arrival who can play wing when Kinghorn is around and full back when he's with Scotland.

Cockerill isn't going to add someone just for the sake of it, he's always been clear about that. He's said multiple times he'd rather use young guys from the academy.

Having said that he's always been clear he'll add quality if it's available so if a good fb/wing from super rugby is available...

Thanks for the chart Disco.

I’m not sure we’ll lose much more than Kinghorn during international windows from the back three, the Scotland matchday 23 will be a combination of Hogg, Maitland, Seymour and Blair with perhaps McGuigan in the squad. Even if Fife does make the November squad I’m really looking forward to seeing what Graham can do along with hopefully rejuvenated Hoyland and Brown.

It’s a real shame Duncan Taylor has pinged an acl, the laddie has been really unlucky the past couple of seasons.
