Miller was left out of the European squad, so he's not available for those games. Very strange given how well he's done in the Championship and now the Prem again.

Charlie Shiel too whose been the squad for a long time now as 24th man.

I like the look of the side but the back row is a bit green.

A real test, Cheetahs could win comfortably.

16. Fenton, 17. Sutherland, 18. Bryce, 19. Hunter-Hill, 20. Bradbury, 21. Fowles, 22. Van der Walt, 23. Rasolea

Stronger bench than expected, good to have some Scotland releases playing. Also like that we're finally getting Dean/Johnstone in the centres to see what they can do.

Interesting. Pretty good line up all things considered. Ritchie and Burleigh held back as a spare for Scotland? Dunbar still in concussion protocol.

I wonder who is on standby for Scotland should a LHP or 9 go down?

If they're going on an emergency only basis then Lee Jones might warm up on Saturday as back 3 and 9 cover.

Tough game right enough. If you offered me 5 points from the two games in South Africa I'd take it this second.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Good point, forgot that.

Interesting that Bennett is away with the squad, must be taking part in dome level of training at least.

This is huge test.
Cheetahs will run the ball a lot. A lot. Yet their pack is pretty handy at set piece. Playing at altitude and it will be warm, very.
We'll see how fit we are. Cheetahs have been strong at home

From asking watchers of South African rugby, they reckon that Cheetahs line up is similar to the others so far in as much as they expect them to be very pacey out wide, but not too strong up front. There are a few junior Boks and a couple of 7s internationalists in the team

Interesting squad, stronger than I had thought.

Is Fruean injured or out of favour?

"Summer signing Robbie Fruean is not available due to a virus, but it is not thought to be connected to his previous heart problems. “He has not been feeling very well and has had some sickness and is
just not fit to play,” Cockerill said."

Worrying that he has a virus, given his history. The most important thing is his health, so hope he recovers well and is available for selection again soon - presumably a virus will knock the stuffing out of him so will be quite long term.

That depends on the virus.

Remember that a virus is what we doctors call "very very small..." :)

Scrum holding up well, if anything their loosehead collapsed that time.

Specman is probably back with the 7s. Currie Cup over so not running 2 squads now. Mpimipi - if we show him the outside he's gone. Scored a lot of tries from driving mauls apparently in S18.

Good big pack, loads of back 3 pace
