Can't judge a lot from the brief flashes, but most encouraged by the hint of how the backs were playing. It looked quite different from recent games, less passing side to side and trying to punch through the middle, instead, when there was nothing on, laying the ball back or putting in a grubber, all at speed and with very good interplay, and suddenly there's a heap of tries on the scoreboard. Great stuff. Would those who saw the game concur?
Yes, definitely more variation in our attack a lot of it coming off of Burleigh at 12 on the back of quick ball from the forwards our back row were totally dominant Watson must have bagged a few turnovers again and Bradbury and Mata battered them all match. Even though SHC had some iffy passes again I thought in general he was quick to the breakdown and looked to move the ball VDW tidied up and moved the ball well.
Two lovely tries through the middle, Burleigh's check-dummy-step-swerve was a thing of beauty and the build-up for his second try, which started with a kick through by SHC and a great recovery and pass back from Dean (?), was a touch of class.
Yes was Deans pass, he has had a few classy try scoring passes this season, fairly certain that actually started with SHC taking a quick tap penalty around our own 22 and he was involved 2 or 3 times before the kick through, I think I recall a bit of luck at one stage where the move almost broke down but it was finished really well.
Thought Hoylands kick for Graham's try was really well executed as well.
