Looking at that back-line, I suspect Rasolea is the only fit player not involved. Hoyland, Brown, Graham must be injured, as well as Tovey and Johnstone (and Burleigh obviously). I'm a bit less confident in our back three without Graham who had also some experience at FB to help Dougie. Bryce must wonder why he doesn't start but he is anyway a useful substitute, covering all the back-line. The centre combo is really seducing (and they seem to play well together).

Good to see Cochrane starting, as well as McCallum. We'll see if Du Preez recovered well from his drop out of the scotland team. Strange that Ritchie is left out : selection or injury ? We'll see if the scrum improved from last week too : I would have liked to see Suzzy starting as Lay struggled a bit. As noticed by other posters, there's a lot of carrying abilities in that pack. SHC will be there to light some fires and lead the way. Sam will do is best to make us regret his departure !
The bench is not as powerful as last week without SHC, Cochrane, Hardie and co. We'll have to be the one leading when we'll enter the last quarter 8) , and then Weir will be there to secure the result :D with the big lads, Suzzy, Crosbie and Bradbury holding them back. :D

Ulster will see that one a decisive game for the play-offs qualification. They will put everything on the pitch. This game will really show us where we are. Can we compete against one of the best side in the league, regularly in the play-offs and every year in the Champions Cup ?

What is going on with Sutherland? Why isn’t he starting yet? Has he failed to impress Cockers yet or is he just taking a bit longer to get fit? Fitness has generally been his strong point in the past

He doesn’t look like he is back to his best yet. After a long injury break I’m pleased they are working him back to full fitness rather than dropping him straight back in and expecting him to cope. Good man management!

I am a bit surprised at the line up. Harries comes in from the cold for our biggest game this year?

Quite surprised Toonie didn't release Kinghorn for the biggest match of the season so far. Away at Ravenhill in a meaningful is a real challenge for him. Not like he's going to play for Scotland unless there's an injury to Maitland or in game next week. So it'd have been good for his development.

Ritchie has been a top, top performer and covers more back row spots than Crosbie. So strange he's omitted.

Fowles has been our best 9 this year and SHC looks good from the bench. A strange twist.

“Darcy wasn’t as good physically as I’d have liked last week, and Jason is a big man and a physical player so he gets the chance to show what he can do,” Cockerill added.

A selection with a very clear game plan in mind. Agree Ritchie has been a good performer but it is nice to be able to rotate in such strong players.

If Kinghorn does not feature in the 6N I really hope he doesn't suffer an SHC style hangover from being away with Scotland and not getting any game time.

I thought Graham showed up well physically last week. Made some big tackles, didn't seem to go backwards when tackled himself and got at least one turnover too. Fair enough, he probably still isn't the player you pick if you want a big hitting winger.

Graham got run over a couple of times for tries last week, it's not his fault he isn't the biggest, and he does have other attributes, but teams will target him physically. Cockers is right not to pick him for this game, it wouldn't be good for him or the team.

I was at the Scotland training at Gala this afternoon, both WP &Fagerson took full part including physical drills, I wouldn`t be surprised if one or the other is involved off the bench vs England, would have been good to have had Nel for 60 tonight as well though.

It's on BBC2 in Northern Ireland, according to ER's twitter today. Not yet figured out if I can watch it on red button, or if it'll need to be iPlayer.

TBRITW is getting his full Scottish dose these last few weeks....and next.

Touch judge at Scotland vs France.
He also had a good few long chats with Hogg when waiting for French penalties to be taken.

Refereeing Ulster vs Edinburgh tonight.

Refereeing Scotland vs England at Murrayfield next week.

Are we trying to convert him????

Change your iplayer settings to Northern Ireland
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.
