Dragons - Edinburgh

Postby Frenchy on Thu Feb 22, 2018 1:31 pm

Team's announced:

Fife
Harries
Johnstone
Dean
VDM
VDW
SHC

Lay
Cochrane
McCallum
McKenzie
Carmichael
Bradbury
Hardie
Mata

Fenton
Sutherland
Millar-Mills
du Preez
Crosbie
Fowles
Weir
Rasolea

To be able to field a pack that strong in the 6N is amazing. Even with two back rows on the bench, Jamie Ritchie isn't in the 23.

Game's not on TV.

Good strong team again.

We saw last week we have the players to go away and get the win and I cant see Cockers not having them take the field in the wrong mind set. Still it is a test of the group, the sort of match that we may have lost in the past.

EDIT: Ulster away to Scarlets as well, possibly a chance to eek out a little daylight.

Read last night that Dragons will be without Henson for the match.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

Ritchie was injured in training, apparently pretty bad.

Hadn't realised that. First thought was 'I might have gone' but then I had a look at Ebbw Vale on google streetview. Blimey.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

That's not good, hope it's not bad in the long run for him.

Have I missed something regarding Mark Bennett?

Will have to settle for twitter updates on the ER website, unless I can find some obscure radio commentary on the net.

Would have thought he's being rested having played the last few games. Good to see Johnstone back, anyway. He's been excellent this season, and I wouldn't see this as weakening the side. Always a tricky team to play in Wales, but we should win this one. Losing tomorrow would be a bigger upset than our home loss to Benetton on the form shown by both these sides and us this season.

Every match in the run in is important but we really need to beat a poor Dragons side to keep the momentum and stay ahead of Ulster.

Hallam Amos is good but the rest aren't much to fear.

Thanks, I was just concerned that I'd missed an injury or something

i agree about Johnstone, both he and Fife have been very good coming in from the sevens, particularly Fife

According to The Offside Line, Bennet had a bang on his knee, in the Ulster game, and is being rested this week as a precaution. Same article mention Ritchie going over on his ankle, at training, and won't be back for a few weeks.
