Won't be holding my breath for that.
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Other things may be blue in Newcastle in January.

Tough draw, hope the French lose interest towards the end and we can pick up a win or 2. Newcastle H&A should both be winnable matches.

Great draw, Montpellier and Toulon won't travel well but will be very hard at home. Newcastle will be a test as they are extremely well coached but I think beatable.

How good to be excited about a champions cup draw again!

Bit I like is that for once we have no other Pro14 teams (great not to have Munster or Leinster particularly !) so both a nice change for supporters and the players can test themselves wholly against different leagues.
Tough group but some great away trips.
South of France in October and Newcastle double header in December please...!

I have not been to Montpellier in decades, I'm not sure I've ever been to Toulon. Absurdly chuffed about this.

I visited Toulon a few years ago and thought it was quite nice (although it was a good few years ago now). Think Nice or Cannes but with fewer tourists, more battleships than luxury yachts, but the same good quality food and drink and that's pretty much Toulon.

Pretty happy with the draw although frankly it's a bit immaterial - just happy to be involved! I can't see us getting out of the group but even two wins would be pretty good given where we are.

Very happy with that draw. Toulon may have been the toughest 4th pool pick, but they are a great box-office draw. Hopefully we play them at home when we still have something to play for, as we should get a good crowd for that one. Newcastle will bring a decent support and make the home fixture a good occasion, and it's an away game I can make too (a rare thing). Montpellier are another big-name side, and will be a massive challenge for us. I have no expectation of qualification from this group, but it's providing us with some very attractive fixtures.

We won't know how competitive we are at this level until we play them. I would probably back our fitness over the French teams but think our chances may depend on how the games are scheduled.
Not sure if there is any rules like higher seeds start at home etc?
Would be helpful if we were playing at home first giving us the opportunity of getting some momentum and conversely hope that one of the French teams lose a game or two and therefore interest before we play them.

Any advice on travel options for Toulon-Flight to Marseille or Nice best?

Anyone know how long after the fixtures are organised do the TV companies get their Tony Spreadbury into gear and confirm actual dates and timings of the matches. Obviously the quicker the better for organising a little trip to the south of france

I'm hoping it'll be quicker this year, less negotiation between TV companies now Sky aren't involved.
