2018-19 Predictions

Postby The Feral Goat on Tue Aug 07, 2018 9:33 am

Only a couple of weeks to pre-season (yeah!) so prediction time.

League Finish – 2nd in conference
Euro progress – 2 wins
Top try scorer – VDM with 17 in all competition
Breakthrough player – Charlie Shiel
Player of the season – Mata
Making a strong run for RWC selection – Luke Crosbie
Fans reaction to the new kit launched tomorrow – “I don’t care if it is the best sports kit ever created, it is not black and red like my Range Rover now”

Fixed the last one for you TFG.
Bill Mata. The second coming?

I think Socino will make a big impact this year, Schoeman too.

I really really hope Hickey is the fly half we need and that Charlie Shiel, as per FG's post, is the breakthrough guy.

My heart says is telling me we are going to win the conference, but I'll be happy to replicate last year's efforts.

In Europe I'm going for three home wins, plus a cheeky away success against The Toon.

Wottie, black and red is retro chic now, cool as can be.

There was a little bit of a teaser for the new shirts on one the tweets the other day, it looked good

League finish - 1st in conference
Euro - Home wins Vs Toulon and Newcastle
Try scorer - VdM
Breakthrough - Darcy Graham as back up fullback but I expect Hunter-Hill to impress.
Player of the season - Mata
RWC Bolter - Matt Scott? Could Murray McCallum edge Nel out? Dougie Fife?

I can't shake the feeling that the levels of optimism are getting unhealthy around here, not like that's going to stop me joining in though

League: 2nd in conference, win the QF, lose in the SF
Euro: Out in the groups, 2 wins
Top try scorer: Van der Merwe
Player of the season: Scott
Breakthrough player: Shiel
Scotland breakthrough player: Bradbury
