You have to assume something has happened to one of our hookers. It doesn't say how short-term the short-term loan is, so hopefully nothing too serious.

Does seem a bit odd, even if Fenton is injured i would have thought an academy player to cover emergencies would have done.

Not sure we have any academy hookers right now. Unless the 18 year old Jackson is stage 3? But 18 is a bit young for Pro14 front row action.

Asheman was really impressive at the junior world and is a rare commodity for a young Scot in that he's a fair sized unit, 106kg at 19 in comparison to Finlay Scott the year before who weighed 92kg.

Maybe it's a chance to get a closer look at him while the squad is a bit light? If Cockers has been watching that world cup like he said then Asheman would be one of the few stand out Scots you'd pick out as having a future at the top level.

Only disappointing thing for me us that it's not permanent! Thought he looked a real player amongst the shambles that was the u20s World Cup campaign.

Kwagga Smith in the Saffers' RWC squad, so that kills off that story once and for all.

Good interview with Matt Scott (https://www.theoffsideline.com/leaner-m ... att-scott/). Realised he was far too big, he says it's nobodies fault but how S&C allowed it and the coaches didn't say something is anyone guess.

Really interesting interview with Scott. He is a clever guy and has obviously worked it out for himself that pace, acceleration and mobility is more important than an extra few kgs of muscle. A number of folk on this website commented on his bulk when he came back from Gloucester and have been proven right. For me Scott has never really reached his full potential - he still has the skill set to be international class but injuries and bulking up has prevented him reaching it consistently. If he has had a good pre-season and is lighter, faster and more mobile then he is going to be a real asset for us and possible Scotland next season. It will be like a recruiting a new player!

So Bradbury not getting any game time in 1st 3 warm up games. Whether it is injury or otherwise it would appear he will be back to club duty soon.

I'm not so sure, if he was injured enough to not be in consideration he would have been released by now. I expect to see his name in the squad next week, or they will say they gave him until the last minute to make it.

We don't exactly have a surplus of big, abrasive back row forwards

Bradbury got injured in the Scotland Vs Edinburgh game which ironically does mean he could be back in an Edinburgh shirt sooner than planned.

Aye, I know, it was a rib injury, but what I'm saying is that if he was so bad fitness-wise he would have been released already.

My money is on him being in the squad for Japan when it is announced next week.

So we are getting Maggie back right enough.

Let's hope he is pulling up trees to prove a point.

I hope he runs amok when unleashed against our opposition, another experienced head to help out the 'young ones' whilst the RWC is running.

Apparently he is due to play v Georgia on Friday,
Lets hope they aren't rushing him back to play on Friday to protect the squad and he comes through ok.
