Do you have inside info or are you guessing? Not asking you to reveal a source, obvs...
Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

That came from inside the Glasgow squad.

Offer made was less that some others and Bhatti claiming if he had been an import he would have got more. No idea of the numbers but he is not a happy bunny about it.

I hadnt heard he was coming here though.

Bhatti fallen behind Alex Allan of late, so now effectively 3rd choice. If Glasgow decided to go low, Edinburgh entitled to value him higher.

Dell was offered to Glasgow, but longer-term deal (and suspect more money) offered by LI. We decided not to match, so strategy was clearly to get a cheaper second / third choice than Dell, to enable investment elsewhere.

Wouldn't bet against Cockers being determined to turn Bhatti into a quality prop so he could point out that Glasgow couldn't but he did. Less clear on what his argument might be re: Marfo.

Good bit of business.

Good news - I like Cherry. He must be one of the most improved players in the squad. Another season with us and a good pre-season and I think he will be top class. He is a bit of a late developer but perhaps indicates there are others like him who deserve their chance?

Wouldn't mind Bhatti coming east, he looks a promising prop that probably needs a bit of expert coaching and development and I think Cockers would do that. He has a bit of nasty about him and he could do a good job for us. I'd take him if on offer.

I like Bhatti's aggression and desire.

But him becoming a very good player relies on Cockers staying at Edinburgh post RWC.

Murray Douglas joining on a short term deal between super rugby seasons.... Interesting signing

Will be available from the summer until February 2020ish.

Presumably RWC-related?

That is absolutely the reason. It would take a substantial drop in form for Gilcho and BBT not to be in the squad. If they're not, it'll be because they are injured. So, basically, he strengthens us all the way through to November and then provides useful cover after that.

Would think so hopefully carmichael will be back as well and I am not convinced Toolis will actually go to the RWC without there being injuries, saying that given our current injury numbers Douglas could find himself at the RWC.

Seems quite a wise move to cover that period, and as mentioned he becomes available if needed. Would not be surprised if they tried something similar with Finlay Christie. Although it is unlikely we will be short of scrum half’s.

Fair play, that made.me laugh.

Apart from being off the top of my head obviously behind 3 here (4 if Carmichael recovers), 3 at Glasgow), one at Exeter, one at Toulouse and one at Newcastle, he is coming precisely because he has no chance of going to the RWC. None. Hunter-Hill would go before him, easily.
28 and done SFA to get near a full time deal here never mind a cap

Looks a handy player form the below...perhaps to be deployed in midfield rather than back row. Could be a very interesting addition if it comes to fruition.
