Awful game and brainless rugby by Embra! Dean has put vaseline on his hands. Decision making awful. No penetration, just going from side to side until we make a mistake. Losing too much ball at the breakdown, guys going into contact without any support, cleaning out just powder puff. We really are bad!

Only saw the second half but struck me as another unique Clancy performance. Not to say that our error counts wasn’t ridiculous (and Miller is not a pro level 8), which contributed to the result.

However, the farce of their second try is one that should be taken up at the highest level. It was clear from the angle behind the posts that Brown got his hand to it and there is no way that the TMO could make such a quick decision the other way. That has effectively ended our league season.

We are determined to throw away a play off spot, if we arent careful we wont even get a euro play off, we need to be in the big cup again next year as an absolute minimum.

I cant see us making the top 3 now with the run in we have.

Scarlets have a much easier run-in so it's imperative we beat them down there. Still have to go to Scotstoun and win, but considering the Weeg will have their own battles that's no gimme despite previous results. Regardless of that Benneton and Ulster could take things out of our hands.

Once again I felt that the young players showed up reasonably well but the experienced heads were anonymous.

Two things that never change -

George Clancy is a LawrenceBryce cheat.

Sides with Duncan Hodge as their 'attack coach' have all the cutting edge of a rusty butter knife.

Very frustrating to watch Clancy seemingly ignore umpteen offences at every breakdown then randomly decide to penalise. On top of which he clearly had no idea what was happening at scrum time.
On the positive side some of our back up players held their hand up and played well today, Nel and Watson back and I thought Blaine looks a real prospect for the future.

The game very much turned on Miller's crazy pass to Dean from the back of the scrum on 66 mins..ok Clancy did the rest with another appallingly biased display but we should have been able to hold out once we got the lead.
On the positive side the worry was our back three and yet Hoyland looked very dangerous,Brown was a lot safer than Fife and I was pretty impressed by Blain who hardly put a foot wrong all day (he's a big guy,not quite VDM size but for just 19 big, fast and physical.)
We'll have to play out of our skins now to even get the 4th place Euro play off spot (and probably away from home even if we managed that looking at the league point in Conference A.

Lot of Clancy chat for a forum that claims it doesn't complain about Refs :?:

We don't habitually moan about refs every game. Clancy makes himself an exception though, because that was a pretty dismal refereeing performance from him today. A serial homer ref who doesn't look to have a clue about how scrums work, gets played by the home side and makes erratic decisions at odds with the laws, deserves a full volley of criticism.

Nothing to gloat over here mate, move on.

Well season over, barring us winning the Champions cup! Have made some improvements, but its glaringly obvious that we were lulled into thinking we were better than we really are, could we be in another one of our famous never ending transitional periods, i reckon Scarlets,Leinster Ulster and Glasgow wont be shaken in their boots.another flop of a season becoming a real possibility. Joking apart last week and Today were winnable matches and we failed miserably on both fronts.
