Announced today that Donald Struth, currently the SRU's Head of Legal, will become Edinburgh Rugby's Managing Director when the current season finishes.

Could be a great apppointment......could be terrible!

Never heard of him, so have no oppinion. Possibly a slightly strange move from legal to running the business unit. Hopefully he does a good job, certainly a departure from Petrie who was more of a recognisable figurehead.

I thought Southwell was being lined up for it.

I also think it could be good to have someone more business /marketing orientated (like Bombrys), but like you said, have to reserve judgement as we're starting with a blank canvas. If he's enthusiastic and communicates with us more than his predecessor then that's great. The SRU have chosen him as the best for the job so he must be doing something right.

Hopefully we'll have another members event in the summer and get to know him a bit better - hopefully they have a million pies again.

The pies are very good, and they do always seem to have lots.
