Where Dougie Fyfe? Hoyland looks good on the ball, but was very ropey under high balls last time out.

Other than that it looks a decent team. Typical that we get Scott and Bennet back and instantly seem to lose Dean and Johnstone.

Good chance for Shiel to get some time in th next few weeks.

I think Fife is injured, hence why he missed the Ospreys game.

Very pleased to see Carmichael returning to the team. Can't help but feel that his lost season meant that he missed out on the RWC. Would've been well-placed to fill the Sam Skinner-shaped hole in the squad.

It is typical! Who is our 6th choice centre with Socino gone?

I think that team looks strong and should win. Delighted Farndale is getting a chance.

Think he can play full back too.

Would be good to have him involved ASAP, he is an exciting prospect of we can get him on the ball with some room.

Fed and watered, almost ready for the trip, slowed up by the B Trevino match.

Pierre Schoeman in full flight is something to behold. I don't imagine it's such fun if you're standing in his path, mind.

He looks huge, huger than before.

Very good display, Charlie Shiel really added a lot of pace when he came on - hope Matt Scott is okay

Sitting at home with man-flu this evening, unable to go the game. Watching the updates come through on the club website match centre has certainly cheered me up, looks like it was a pretty convincing performance. Obviously much tougher assignments to come, but great to start the season with a good win.

Really solid start. First 40 was very good. Thought the pack went well Haining Crosbie and Carmichael all looked hungry, douglas looked a good addition as well. schoeman was great went full gas for 60mins and then ran off when subbed huge engine in a huge man.

Kanavula looks enormous as well but very raw, could be another great find.

Backs played well we scored some really nice tries. Scott , VdW and Vdm all looked sharp but it was particularly good to see mark Bennett playing well scoring tries and having a smile on his face.

A special performance from Bennett, I didn't think we'd ever see him at his best but wow that was special.

Scott, Shiel, VdM and Schoeman very good. Haining looks an interesting player shifting the contact - wonder how much he'll play this year. Glad Farndale got a professional try - he deserves it.

Thought there was still too much bad kicking and a wee bit too deep still. Lots to work on but a good performance. If Bennett and Scott stay fit we're in business.

Agree FKL kicking in particular got a bit loose in the 2nd half, will need to watch it back, but live I thought Grooms box kick technique subject to charge down seems to pop the ball up slightly before kicking.

Bigger tests to come but a really good start.

The 2 new signings in the centre seemed to work with well! They both look really hungry and full of running. Granted limited opposition and we still look susceptible to a bzig runner r in midfield but the signs are good.

All in all a good performance and a nice start to the season with the ideal fixture. I just hope the injury to Scott isn’t serious.

Shiel looked good but to be fair I think I would have in that situation, added a bit of zip but thought his passing was a wee bit off, too often Hickey was checking his stride to receive the ball.
