The Thistle boys' latest pod is in (https://play.acast.com/s/thethistle) and features legendary Scotland stand-off Duncan Weir giving an interview to David.
Among other points were these:
• The move to Edinburgh was suggested to Weir by Scott Johnson at international camp
• Duncan's original reaction was "f*** no"
• Townsend was initially against Weir moving, and wanted to keep the stand-off at Scotstoun
• However, Duncan really enjoyed living in Edinburgh
• Weir wanted more time at Edinburgh after his injuries
• He felt he owed the side more
• However he had to move on and was lucky that Solomons was at Worcester
• He's happy at Worcester, though Duncan would like to finish his career in Scotland
And internationally:
• Duncan is nothing but effusive towards Toonie
• He feels that Townsend was very good to him, and feels as though it was a matter of just being patient while at Worcester – and Finn Russell is, after all, a class player
