Could be a couple of academy lads in bother

Don't mention Rory Hutton. I did once but I think I got away with it.

Depending on the nature of the social gathering.

I doubt they'll be the only SRU-contracted players who get covid this coming season though, so I hope a sensible approach is taken.

tend to agree with Biffer here. Others may contract covid but any player getting it by attending a "social event" is asking for trouble. The club has no income, and would need to set a clear message. P45 could easily be the outcome to ensure other players realise how serious the situation is, both pandemic and economic.

I'd hope they aren't fired for this. Nobody benefits from promising players being kicked out of the academy because one made a mistake. I'd be disappointed if that was the outcome.

no-one wants anyone to be sacked. But depending on circumstances is a possibility. Given the history of lack of standards and self entitlement here, no-one can seriously doubt that if appropriate lines in the sand will need to be drawn and standards made clear

Hope they don't get the sack. To potentially lose a promising career because they were young and stupid would be harsh.

Most people were young and stupid at one point or another.

In 2 weeks time the academy S+C coach should be absolutely beasting them for a few days until they're in a far worse state than they'll be whilst fighting COVID. That will teach them.

Seems there were four of them at the party. I'd suggest this means it won't be a P45 issue.
